# Lost Access and Recovery

What to do if you lose your phone, forget your password or passcode, lose your recovery phrase or Shield, or think your Solflare wallet was compromised.

Whether you can get back into a Solflare wallet depends on one thing: whether you still have the recovery phrase, a Quick Login backup, or a device where the wallet is open. Because Solflare is self-custodial, Solflare support cannot reset your access, recover your phrase, or reverse a transaction.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Anyone who offers to recover a lost wallet, phrase, or stolen funds for a fee is a scammer. Solflare support will never ask for your recovery phrase.
{% endhint %}

#### I lost my phone, or it broke

Your funds aren't on the phone. They're on the Solana blockchain, and you can reach them from any device. Install Solflare on a new phone and either import your recovery phrase or, if you used Quick Login, sign in with the same Google or Apple account and enter your passcode. See [Import any Solana Wallet on mobile](https://docs.solflare.com/solflare/onboarding/mobile/import-any-solana-wallet) and [Quick Login](https://docs.solflare.com/solflare/security/quick-login).

#### I forgot my browser extension password

Use **Forgot your password?** on the extension's unlock screen. This logs you out of the extension, so you will need your recovery phrase to sign back in and set a new password. Extension passwords are stored only in that browser, so each browser can have a different one, and Solflare never has access to them. See [Forgot your Solflare wallet password?](https://help.solflare.com/en/articles/6364511)

#### I forgot my Quick Login passcode

Solflare cannot look up or reset a Quick Login passcode, because it never receives it. If the wallet is still open on one of your devices, reveal the recovery phrase there and write it down. If you lose both your passcode and every device, and you don't have a written recovery phrase, you can't recover the wallet. See [How Quick Login keeps your recovery phrase safe](https://help.solflare.com/en/articles/17130348).

#### I lost my recovery phrase

If the wallet is still open on any device, reveal the phrase now and write it down. If you used Quick Login, restore the wallet from your Google or Apple account first. If you have neither, you can't recover the wallet. Step by step: [Back Up and Recover Your Recovery Phrase](https://docs.solflare.com/solflare/security/recover-your-recovery-phrase).

#### I lost my Solflare Shield

Your funds are safe as long as your recovery phrase is safe. A lost or stolen Shield is useless without its PIN, and it locks itself after three wrong attempts. Get another Solflare Shield of any edition and import your recovery phrase. See [Connect Solflare Shield](https://docs.solflare.com/solflare/onboarding/mobile/connect-solflare-shield) and [Will I lose my crypto if I lose Solflare Shield?](https://help.solflare.com/en/articles/13177053)

#### I was signed out of Quick Login

Your wallet stays safe and usable on your device. To sign back in, choose **Import existing wallet**, sign in with your Google or Apple account, allow cloud access, and enter your passcode. If you removed Solflare's cloud access, select **Reconnect** when prompted. See [Reconnect Quick Login](https://help.solflare.com/en/articles/16944033).

#### I think my wallet is compromised or my funds were stolen

Act quickly, because Solana transactions cannot be reversed, and these steps stop further loss:

1. **If a dApp drained you through an approval:** revoke it in **Settings → Security & Privacy → Spending Approvals**.
2. **If your recovery phrase may have leaked:** assume the attacker can sign anything. Create a new wallet with a new recovery phrase on a clean, malware-free device, and move any remaining assets to it right away.
3. **Stop using the compromised wallet** and send nothing more to it.
4. **Scan your device** for malware.
5. **Keep evidence:** transaction IDs, screenshots, and timestamps.
6. **Report it** to your local cybercrime authority, and to any exchange the stolen funds were sent to, since it may be able to flag the receiving account.

Full guidance: [What should I do if my Solflare wallet is compromised or funds are stolen?](https://help.solflare.com/en/articles/13522176) If some assets are left and you are unsure how to move them safely, contact Solflare support through the [Help Center](https://help.solflare.com/).

#### I sent crypto to the wrong address, or it has not arrived at an exchange

A completed Solana transaction cannot be reversed. Only the owner of the receiving address can send the funds back. If you sent tokens to an exchange and they have not appeared, check the transaction on a Solana explorer. If it shows as completed, contact the exchange's support, since some exchanges take time to credit deposits or only partly support SPL tokens. See [Can you help me recover my lost assets?](https://help.solflare.com/en/articles/6364618)

#### How to avoid losing access

Back up your recovery phrase on paper the day you create a wallet, consider [Quick Login](https://docs.solflare.com/solflare/security/quick-login) as a second backup, and follow [Crypto Wallet Security Best Practices](https://docs.solflare.com/solflare/security/digital-wallet-best-practices).
